It's all about the money
Mimi swore that she really loved him with her heart, soul and very being. In fact, she believed that her love could stand the test of time. Simply put, unwavering.
As fate would have it, they got married.
Pure bliss hovered around their marriage. Honey, sweetie, darling, were what they called each other by.
Six months into the marriage, things started changing and that catalysed a change in Mimi’s behaviour.
The trigger of that change reaction was the beautiful element called money.
The song that Mimi began singing frequently in church became “my house is built on nothing less…”
The joy that characterised the morning greeting and the welcome back home was suddenly missing. She no longer called Richard honey or sweetie, she simply gave a sluggish smile or said ‘huh’, which I must add is not even an adjective. In their room, she faced river Jordan while Riche faced river Niger.
Where is the heart and soul that vowed the unflinching love?
Surprisingly, Richard business bloomed magically and he was blessed with a copious amount of money. When he went home, his wife gave him the now normal nonchalant form of greeting. Then he decided to try a little experiment on his wife. As he looked straight ahead in to the mirror, he splashed the bundles of money on their bed and gingerly monitored any change in his wife. When Mimi caught sight of the money, she appeared so uplifted that her face turned into that of a Chinese. Yes, money can perform a face- lift.
‘’darling, you know I have been praying for you’’, Mimi said.
‘’awe… praying for me’’.
Money does empowers. It does wonders.
Still smiling in the dream world…
Thanks for stopping by.
Xoxo,
Liz.
